Essential theme is the most downloaded plugin for Moodle by a long shot. It's downloaded around 5000 times per month which is nearly 2000 times more each month than the second most popular plugin (Aardvark). Keeping themes up to date for the newest versions of Moodle is neither easy nor inexpensive, which is why we're working with Gareth Barnard to community fund the update of everyone's favorite Moodle theme to so that it supports Moodle 3.0 and can continue meeting the needs of Moodlers worldwide. As a hugely popular theme, we think that a community funding project is appropriate to help Gareth offset his time and to help him eat (yes, even Gareth eats).

Basic project details:

• We're working to raise 500 GBP ($750 USD) in order to fund Essential for Moodle 3.0.
• This project will be live for one month only.
• As soon as the amount is met development will begin, if the target is not reached then nothing happens.
• All code is/will be released to the public on Moodle.org.
• Funders get mentioned in the readme (optional).
